Meshkati's Chernobyl Pages     This site contains papers by both Professor Meshkati and his students on the causes, consequences and lessons of the Chernobyl accident. Prof. Meshtaki is based in the Institute of Safety and Systems Management at the University of Southern California and much of the content reflects concerns with systems management, the man-machine interface ad organisational issues, both local and international.

Canadian Department of Natural Resources, Energy Sector     The Energy Sector is one of five sectors within Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). The sector's activities focus on R&D;, policy development and programs in the areas of energy efficiency, renewables and alternatives, hydrocarbons and nuclear energy.
Energy Information Administration (Office of Coal, Nuclear, Electric and Alternate Fuels)     The EIA is part of the US Department of Energy and collects information across the whole of that department's brief. Of particular interest in a nuclear context is the Uranium Industry Annual with its wealth of data on nuclear power and uranium. Also forecasts for the US and world uranium production/consumption and nuclear generating capacity. A full list of US nuclear power plants is given, together with brief details of each plant.
European Commission Directorate General for Energy and Transport     This new Directorate General was formed by the merger of the Directorates General for Transport and Energy. Australian Safeguards and Non-Proliferation Office     Australia's national authority for nuclear safeguards, ASNO is responsible for the operation of Australia's bilateral safeguards agreements and works closely with the IAEA on safeguards development. The site contains ASNO's Annual Report, as well as a list of publications produced by ASNO.
Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission     Formerly the Atomic Energy Control Board (AECB), the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission can best be described as the watchdog over almost all activities in Canada involving nuclear energy and materials. The website includes FAQs on the Canadian Nuclear Safety and Control Act.
Euratom Supply Agency     The Euratom Supply Agency's mission is to ensure a regular and equitable supply of nuclear fuels for EU users. Euratom's annual reports, from 1995 onwards, are available here.

Electricite de France     EDF is the French national electricity utility operating 58 nuclear power reactors and supplying over 75% of France's electricity from these reactors. This site contains a wealth of data, reports and news.

Energoatom (Ukraine)    
Eskom     Eskom supplies 98% of South Africa's electricity. The 1840 MWe Koeberg nuclear power plant accounts for 5% of Eskom's capacity - over 89% of the utility's output is generated from coal and the web site reflects this. Hokkaido Electric Power Company     Hokkaido Electric Power Company is the elecricity utility for the Japanese island of Hokkaido. Nuclear Safety Institute of the Kurchatov RRC     NSI is one of Russia's largest federally funded scientific labs and is the main centre for nuclear safety research. The site has 2 main section, the Risk Analysis Laboratory and the Nuclear Reactors Safety Analysis Laboratory. Most of the former is under development and appears to have seen little work in the last year.

British Nuclear Energy Society     The Society, established in 1962, is the leading learned body in the UK for all persons interested in nuclear energy. Canadian Nuclear Society     The Canadian Nuclear Society was established in 1979. The CNS is dedicated to the exchange of information in the field of applied nuclear science and technology. European Nuclear Society     ENS is the umbrella organisation for national nuclear societies. It organises regular conferences on both technical and non- technical aspects of nuclear energy and runs the foremost nuclear news service, NucNet.

Canning Resources     The page gives a brief outline of CRA, its performance, interests and place in the RTZ- CRA Group.
